Zones

Note sure how this will work, but in a good cause so worth a try. (I hope Danny will approve...but will understand if it gets removed...)

I pledge to donate to BBC's Children in Need 0.20 per post placed on this thread by 23.59 tonight.

And I would urge others to join me.

donations can be made at the following website: http://www.bbc.co.uk/pudsey/

In a good cause!

cheers

Due to the heavy use of these forums we would prefer it if you are going to post something then please make sure it is worthwhile and at least 15 characters long. One liner replies such as 'Yes', 'No' or 'I agree' for example, are not necessary and only use up valuable bandwidth. Please use your back button to change your reply or use the link below to go to the forums.

More than 15 characters at least :p

Was worried I'd been too hasty earlier - have now decided in this case you never can be.

Remember that those of you donating here (http://www.bbc.co.uk/pudsey) also need to tick the GIFT AID box to ensure that kind Mr Brown gives some tax relief on your donation. Along the lines of 28 pence in the pound I believe.

170 posts within the timescale (not counting Zones' initial post!) at 20p each that will lighten Zones' bank account by......

34 !:ok:

I believe there are 5 of us going to match that figure which means PPRuNe has raised a grand 170 for Children in Need!!

Well done all, and top marks to Zones for thinking it up! All we need to do now is arrange for the lovely Gaby Roslin to collect the money in person.....:E

Zones,

Great idea with an excellent response. Nice to see such a positive thread.

Just called 08457 33 22 33 and spoke to a nice young lady to match your donation.

Doubt too many others would miss $60(ish) on an annual basis either.

I was feeling generous tonight, so I upped my donation to 50. Didn't get a nice lady to talk to though - just some automated gizmo. Interesting point though - nearly 4000 views on the subject but only 171 logged on. Pity really. Mind you, my bank manager would heave a sigh of relief - 4000 x 20p is alot of dosh!!

Well done Zones for a brilliant idea.

Don't forget to let them claim Gift Aid on your donation so that Mr Gordon Brown pays back the Tax!

As it stands I make it 176x0.20=35.20. Plus of course all the other pledges to match the total etc.
Good work Zones.
Another 40(rounded up) from me since I decided to match the result when I first saw your post.

Ok, so the missus has relegated me to the spare room. Before I go, shhhnnnozzllleed as I am, may I say what a great response from you awl out there. i will have a good look tomorrow and add what ' I owe' up, but in reality I think I'll round it up to a nice figure...

I think it is satisfying to know that such a simple thread can generate such a great response from all.... (yeah I'm p****d and won't go on too long)

To finish, I'd like everyone to just take a second to recall the fantastic work done by Danny & co a while back in exposing a certain individual whose exploits with children were less than.... sorry, I'm actually crying now as I type, probably the booze, but.... I met that bloke NR, and I am ashamed to say I was sucked in....:{

I'll be back in the morning, with headache to advise my 'official' version of the results, my donation, and a greatful final word to a great response...

Nite..nite///:ok:

Well done to all, many thanks for participating in a little worthwhile fun! Thanks to Danny & co for allowing us to use the site to generate funds for the needy.

I have rounded up my donations and given 100 on my cc.

The hangover is too much to allow me to count number of posts prior midnite, and with others joining in thereafter, I felt I should make it worthwhile....

Now it's off to nurse that hangover, if the wife & kids will allow...

Cheers
Z.

PS - To anyone joining the thread 'late' - why not still go to the Pudsey site and donate some ???

Zones,

What a fantastic hoot, well done my dear chap.

Unfortunately I picked up this thread late, so couldn;t join in. Nevertheless, I'll despach Caruthers first thing on Monday to donate 50.00 to the kids.

Well done once again, and to all who helped out.
Kind regards
