I saw snow yesterday, simultaneously with lightning and sandstorms...
It was at Birmingham, but the sim was in Manchester...

I know I do not have all the facts, but, why did the airport close? There really wasn't much snow. Is this a case of wet snow on runway, B.A (breaking action) reported unreliable (limitations of the B.A machine) and the airport goes into melt down with aircraft stacking up able to land but alas not "permited"?

Out of interest, how many flights were actually diverted and to what airport.

Around 2/3 bmi babies & an Air Malta diverted away from East Mids to Manchester.

A Ryanair diverted away from Birmingham to Luton
