View Full Version : anyone fancy a burger

THIS is the new artery-clogging, belly-bursting Monster Thickburger — branded the world’s deadliest fast food by health experts.

It consists of TWO 5oz slabs of beef, FOUR strips of bacon, THREE cheese slices, a whopping dollop of mayonnaise and a buttered sesame seed bun.

It contains a staggering 1,420 calories — 820 more than a Big Mac — and 107gms of fat.

The calorie count of the burger — launched by American fast food chain Hardees — is more than the DAILY intake recommended for people watching their weight.

It is also nudging towards the MAXIMUM number of calories in a normal daily diet — 1,940 for women and 2,550 for men.

And you would have to walk briskly for 22 MILES — the length of the Channel Tunnel — to burn off one Monster Thickburger.

The fat content figure is just as worrying. At 107gms, it exceeds the Health Department’s recommended daily limit by a whopping 37gms.

And the burger is jam-packed with the kind of unsaturated fat that can reduce blood flow and lead to heart disease.

Big appetite ... bosses are confident
it will be a huge hit

The Thickburger bucks the trend towards healthier convenience grub and has been introduced despite massive concern over the rising levels of obesity in the Western world.

But Hardees bosses are confident it will be a BIG seller.

They are backing it with an ad campaign boasting the burger, which costs $5.49 (£2.95), “requires two hands, a firm grip and a serious appetite”.

“requires two hands, a firm grip and a serious appetite”.

I know of another monster burger like that but its much less fattening :D

( after a visit to Marie Stopes, anyway)

It should be OK as long as you have the regular fries and a DIET coke with it....

Mayonaise ?!?! with cheese ? Yuck.

If you're ever in New Malden try the Sarnies' (On the right if you exit the A3 at Shannon Corner Suthbound and turn left) special burger. Similar in some respects to the diet version described above, but with a fried egg, also fried onions and a choice of red or brown sauce.

Health nuts may have the same in a brown bap.

A pretty shrewd move, theres always a reaction against preaching by politicians and health nazies, it prolly will do well.
