London to Manchester in 29 Seconds. Add a while for the 747 to get you to 40000ft, then add a bit more for the rocket to get to mach lots, then off you go.
Add a bit more for slowing down and guess what, you could have taken the 737 from Heathrow to Manchester, and got there earlier and one heck of a lot cheaper.
Bring back Concorde.

Exactly ZH 875 , it's horses for courses.
Wasn't it Barnes Wallis who thought that no journey (on this planet!) should exceed 90 minutes, so 73 for Manchester, SCRAMJET for Oz and various others for the bits in between...
So that'd still be tube between Uxbridge and Whitehall then:( :(
