Gooday.

There used to be a paragraph in Jepps' terminal AU-17 "Altimeter check' that stated the requirements for the altimeter check on an ILS and how to go about adding altitdue onto the DA. It is now replaced with a new paragraph?

Does the glideslope altitude check still require the difference to be added onto the DA and where can I find it in Jepps or AIP.

Try the AIP: ENR 1.5 - 32 Paragraph 7.3.1

Here is a link to the on line version of the AIP (Nov 25 2004 Edition)...

No need to add discrepancies any more, that went out a while ago.

AU-17 2.7.3.1 "If check indicates an unexplained discrepancy, the ILS should be discontinued.."

Yeah the old paragraph was turfed 'cause it was complete bovine excrement. Whomever wrote it displayed 0 understanding of altimetry:rolleyes:

Discontinued because it was non-ICAO, apparently.

What I find peturbing is the way that items like that -and other items- can be chopped and changed in the AIP's without so much as a notification of changes for each amendment (as is done for the CAOs CARs etc).

What wasn't ICAO compliant was the fact that it was complete nonsense...or maybe that is ICAO compliant:confused:

No discrepency addition in the UK or US. Never used to be in Oz either until someone decided to insert it into the AIP. Back to normal now though.

This isn't the first time that something like this has snuck into the AIP of late without too much emphasis either!
Like when the procedural speeds were removed
