In case it is of interest to anybody my local remainder bookshop has a number of copies of the above book by Gordon Bain at only GBP 7.99 (down from GBP25). Lots of superb colour photos of the "ah de Havilland" type plus other lesser aircraft. Well worth checking your own local shop for a copy.

A search on that bookshop website with the South American river name will give more info although they still have it at full price.

It is imaginatively called Bargain Books but also trades under the name of Bookworld and appears to have branches throughout the UK.
