G'day All,
Looks like the boys on the holiday island are returning to the 222 fold to fulfil their SAR commitments. Apparently the surfer boy doesn't like the idea of putting a winch on his shiny 430 in case it scratches it.

Actually Grant and Alan are getting the 222 as a backup machine in case the 430 is down for maintenance, and also to double up as the winch machine. Their previous backup machine is now sitting in the hangar at Mackay after being sent back to the lessor. Since the winching work is only a very small percentage of any SAR work they do then why spend nearly a mill USD to get it installed on the 430 when the provisions were already there on a 222 coming from VIH.

Now it appears that the B222 will arrive in full EMS kit, with the Hamo mob offering it as an adjunct to the CQ RESQ SA365 based in Mackay. History in Oz for EMS machines brought in on spec is not good. Recent memory (I may be old, but I have a good memory, ok?) shows BK117's in Vic and WA and recently the A119 in Canberra not being able to convince the powers to be that they deserve $$ from the public (or sponsor's) purse. Oh well, good luck to them if they succeed.
