Bristol to Barbados? Also Summer 2005...

Hello People,
Is it true that there will be a one off flight to Barbados again in February 2005? It operated last year in January, I heard its Feb this year, can anyone clarify?

Also, anyone know whats happening in Summer 2005? Obviously we have KEWR starting, Ive heard Royal Air Maroc will be going to Morrocco too, anything else of interest?

There was a discussion about the BRS-BGI route on PPRuNe a few months ago.

I believe the 762 had to accept a reduced payload for the 'privilege' of flying non-stop last winter. From my memory of this discussion the number of pax carried was under two hundred.

The runway length is always going to get in the way of these sorts of flights. I am sure it is the reason why BRS has no Florida flights for example.

In the past Florida services from BRS have had to fly via another UK or Irish airport to re-fuel although I have a vague memory that for a short while in the 80s or early 90s one airline did operate 757s (I think it was 757s) non stop but with a reduced number of seats. I wouldn't bet my house on this though because the memory is hazy.

The airport always denies the runway length is a problem I tackle them. When the new terminal was nearing completion I was told by a senior route figure at the airport that once it was up and running companies would be falling over themselves to introduce Florida flights. Hasn't happened yet.

Wasn't it Air europe that offered BRS-MCO on B752 in the past? IIRC they did this with Y213 on the B752.

Never had AE operating BRS-MCO.

1992 American Transair operated fortnightly B757 on Thursdays
with approx y215 seats and yes most services went direct.

Flights operated on behalf of Cosmos/Aspro.

Just have to wait a little bit longer before next charter series to
MCO - an operator is lined up!!!

According to the take off performance data GBYAA (BY 762)
can depart for example from BRS 27 at rtow 157595 with temp 10 deg flp 15 and wind 270/5 thats only a couple of tons short of mtow and therefore transatlantic/carib ops should be possible (27 is runway length limited and 09 obstacle limiting).

That's the one I was trying to think of. I had a vague recollection that Aspro came into it but not their airline, Intereuropean.
