View Full Version : Startup Toolbar
I know it's a basic question, but I want to tidy up the programmes that start on boot-up and that display icons in the toolbar at bottom right of the screen. I don't have a manual and help doesn't, so where will I find the place where I can remove these pesky things from starting automatically on boot-up? I don't want to remove them permanently from use, I just want to be able to start them manually when required. [If any of that makes sense, that is!!] Using W2K and XP on a second machine.

start - run - type msconfig select ok and you can then tick/untick what you want to start on start up also check selective start up

Most programs in the notification area of the screen can be stoped by right clicking on the icon and setting the properties from there.

Mike Lin's Startup Control Panel works well, is free and available from http://www.mlin.net/

Thanks guys - advice much appreciated. Job done.
Did most of them with the right click.
W2K - couldn't find msconfig.
Downloaded Mike Lin's control panel - finally zapped the last stubborn blighter!
