The Airways Museum, Essendon Airport, is holding its annual Open Day on Sunday, November 21st. The Museum will be open from 10 am to 4 pm.

The theme of this year's Open Day is 'The History of Air Traffic Control in Australia'. There will be an illustrated talk on this subject followed by a discussion panel of retired controllers starting at 2 pm.

Films from the archives will be shown earlier in the day.

On display will be the Museum's new replica 1940s Airway Traffic Computer, or 'Rodoniscope', and a newly-restored 1950s Flight Progress Board.

Full details are available at the Civil Aviation Historical Society website www.airwaysmuseum.com (http://www.airwaysmuseum.com)

If you must, Karrank!

One week to go to the Open Day!

The website has also just been updated with some interesting photos of the aftermath of Ansett's disastrous 1939 hangar fire and the crash of their Lockheed 10B Electra VH-UZO at Somerset Dam in 1943, and much else besides.

Philthy,

Web Site address please,

The web address is actually on the first post, but here it is again:

www.airwaysmuseum.com (http://www.airwaysmuseum.com)

Incidentally, don't be fooled by the '.com' - the CAHS/Airways Museum is entirely non-commercial.

Also, a free website update service is available - just follow the links from the home page.

Cheers,

Philthy
