Apparantly they're in negotiation with a major operator to use the recently built BIP. Anyone heard anything about this?

Heard it might be British airways, which I find fairly unbelievable

Doesn't BA currently use Global Supply Systems (with B744Fs) out of Stansted for its dedicated freight flights?

Could either be the new Italian mob, Ocean Air, or maybe GSS are moving across to MSE so as to help BA keep costs down

With EUJet suspending operations and Planestation deeply in debt and having to sell their 75% stake in the buisness park, what is the future of Manston ??

Any hint of redundancies yet ??

From BBC\'s news website..............

Budget airline suspends flights

Budget airline suspends flights

EUjet axed flights to Glasgow and Madrid because of poor demand
Budget airline EUjet has suspended all flights to and from Kent International Airport, a day after shares in its parent company were suspended.
Both the airline and the airport, at Manston, are owned by PlaneStation, whose shares were suspended after its bank withdrew financial support.

Freight operators using the airport are so far unaffected.

The airline began commercial flights in September 2004 but passenger numbers have been below anticipated levels.

Destinations axed

EUjet runs four Fokker 100 aircraft, flying from Manston to 18 destinations in the UK and Europe.

Since flights began 10 months ago the airline has already axed two of its destinations - Madrid and Glasgow - because of low passenger numbers, and postponed plans to start flights to Cologne.

EUjet hoped to have 500,000 passengers in its first year of operation but in its first three months flights have carried only 71,000 people.

PlaneStation said it would need a cash input because of passenger levels for 2005 falling below planned levels.

On Monday it said talks with the bank over the weekend had "not been positive".

Last month PlaneStation had to sell off its 75% interest in the Kent International Business Park in Manston, blaming EUjet\'s poor passenger numbers.

planestation did not go down because of the cargo operation blame martin may who decided passengers were the way forward
after all he was ???????? the so called turn around king.eu jet were there a few months cargo was there for years.although a resident of ramsgate and feel sorry for all eu jet staff who lost their jobs, not much has been mentioned on forums such as bbc about cargo staff/fire staff/control towers etc who managed the airport without going down.but at least there are some of these staff left as that is where the future is.got to be better than martin mays future as a genius ?????

Has anybody asked the Airport Management how and why they lost what must have been a large chunk of income from MK airlines a few months before EUJet started up? MK suddenly moved out to Ostend. Might have helped pay for the running of the airfield at Manston if they had still been there.

I think you'll find that MK were offered such an attractive deal to relocate to Manston in the first place that Planestation were actually losing money on the arrangement. When the airport management tried to negotiate a more commercially viable deal, MK simply packed up and left.
