Does anyone have any information about the current state of play with the proposed merger of these two, and what they are up to?

SN Brussels Airlines' parent company SN Air Holdings, I believe has now taken over the majority share holdings in both Virgin Express & Birdy Airlines, thus bringing in Belgium's low-fares & longhaul airlines all under one company.

Virgin Express will operate throughout 2005 under their current name & brand, although after that the airline will either be merged into mainline, or, far more likely, the airline will continue to offer no-frills service on routes best suited to a no-frills airline under a different brand.

I believe thats the extent of the information released. No news on the effects on the 737 fleet or their crews.

most probably a downsizing in fleet is expected. SN brussels operate a fleet of airbus 319 330 so i don't think they will keep the 737 on line.....:bored:

But knowing the expensive leasing of the BAe146/AVRO fleet we never know?!?!!;)
