For cat haters everywhere....

2mb download (http://www.usafa.af.mil/dfp/cockpit-phys/mov/cat.mov) .

Don't think it looks too cruel, but puss doesnt seem very happy about it all.

(from Boing Boing's site. (http://www.boingboing.net/2004/10/24/cattossing_in_zerog_.html))

Much better than that feckin' penguin.:ok:

(And, if they had tied some buttered toast to it's back, who knows what would have happened)

The bit when the cat is spinning...
... removes the need for the buttered toast for the perpetual motion engine to work!

I showed this clip to my cat Basil. He hid under the cupboard and is making strange growling noises.

Exactly the point. What if a piece of toast had been attached? Would the cat have just suspended in mid-air?

My dog liked the clip.

The road from Fuengirola to Mijas was "dead cat ally" last week. Every morning at least six new carcases on the road side.

None this morn. Seems the moggies have learn't not to mess with the drivers on this road!

Either that or Iberia's catering staff have got there early today :E

The link doesn't work. :{

Reddo, it does work but I think it's one of those Freudian object association things.

OK, I give up. All I can see is a very small rectangle with a square, a circle and a triangle in it. My guess is that it's the triangle. ;)

When I first saw the title of the thread, I thought uhoh, the moderator will ban this one straight away, but it's not THAT sort of tossing, is it?

I get this

Sorry reddo and anyone else having problems - it's not working for me now either.

I think I downloaded the file onto my laptop this afternoon so if anyone wants it, PM me and I'll email it to you tomorrow (2mb should be ok for most email servers).

Don't forget your email address.

After a little search I found the video here: http://phrough.com/
You need to sign up and get a password to see it.

It seemed rather painless except for the cat. Maybe next time they can put it in a sack and bat it around with field hockey sticks.:}

26th Oct 2004, 17:10
but it's not THAT sort of tossing, is it?

What sort of tossing would that be then ST? :E

Anybody seen the South Park episode with "Red Rocket"?

26th Oct 2004, 20:06
Something I saw on a link from a "pop-up" if you know what I mean, which you most certainly do.... ;)

Of course I imediately reported it to the RSPCA but the cat said he was quite happy and the RSPCA should mind their own business.. :E

Not having been able to see the video, one has only this to say: People who wish to experiment on cats in zero-gravity should experiment on themselves beforehand. This could consist of launching themselves off a balcony from at least the 3rd floor... :E

Holding a cat in each hand, with a basket of cats below. :E
