A cross between the Dornier 328 and Bae/Avro regional jets.

So that's where all the RJX fuselages went! Think ANYBODY would be hard pressed to see any difference!(APART from the engines!)

(Don't know if there were any fuselages built,by the way!)

Any order Flybe?

At least one RJX was built and flown and is now at Manchester Airport Museum....

Recently rediscovered a 1974 Air International article on the then HS146 design which was subsequently mothballed until BAe was formed in 1977. Some interesting design criteria included a 700 nm range!!

Yes,I know of that one Brabazon, but surely there has to be some co-operation between Bae Systems and Antonov here?

Or is the Ukraine's industrial espionage still as good as it was? (Can I say that?!?!)

Could not see any airbrakes on the rear, but maybe the RJX didn't have them either? Any comments?

Looks nice!

I´m sure it will suplement the Embraer 170-190 and make up for the withdraw of the RJX and DO-728 out of the 100 seat market.

What kind of engines are fitted?

From a photo on Newscasters' link the engines are "Ivchenko Progress" ,inscribed on the cowling.

With reference to the airbrake question I posed,I've examined all the RJX photos I could find on the net,and it DOESN't appear to have them, as opposed to the 146. Therefore I declare the Antonov an exact copy of the RJX (with two engines)!

Not that I am aware of! I suspect an "original" design, influenced by <cough> other factors. ;)

Sorry no copy just a AN-74 with the engines put under the wings instead of above, losses STOL & rough surface ability, but gains a lot less drag!

I have to agree that from the outside it is a 146/RJX with two engines.

Surely you mean with two very big engines.
