Heard an interesting rumour over the weekend from two independent sources that Flybe might be considering several french routes out of LTN for next summer. Certainly France is not particalurly well served out of LTN, with only Paris & Nice by easy, & now Dinard by ryanair, with Nimes being added in January.

Certainly with the very large catchment area that Luton has, I must admit I could see a good market for some of the the 'Channel Hopper' destinations that Flybe are starting to serve from other UK airports. Slots would not be a problem but actual space at Luton might be. However, France is extensively by ryan at STN.

With easy and now ryan adding both routes and aircraft at Luton, it seems unlikely, but maybe Flybe could command a niche market on several routes, which would be interesting. Then again, if they were going to do this, wouldn't they use LGW.

On a different note, are Flybe reinstating their Jersey service for the summer(sat only ?)

As regards the French routes, possibly W rotations flown by Birmingham/Exeter based aircraft.

Are the BHX flights the only Flybe routes where they codeshare with Continental & Air France?

No. They also codeshare with CO and AF out of BHD. However the CO codeshare terminates 27th May.

SOU-GCI and SOU-JER are codeshared with AF and CB still I believe.

Whilst making a booking on the Flybe website, under the "where we fly" heading, I noticed amongst the destinations served from NCL, was LTN ?. Likewise, from LTN was JER which I know is "summer only" and NCL. Has this just appeared or has it been there for a while, maybe in error. No other mention anywhere else or could this be something that might be happening next year?.

Might do quite well, especially from the Luton end.

powerjet1, well spotted and as you say, Jersey and Newcastle appears in 'where we fly'!

Mrs and Miss Buster would love a shopping trip to the Metro centre!

Buster

Hope Mrs B will be able to sample the " Geordie Delights" from LTN sometime in the future, and also the odd "croissant" maybe.

This used to be a not very successful Debonair route

True. But the whole market place has changed a lot over the last 3/4 years. Easy have been very successful on the STN-NCL run, 4 x daily with a 737. I would have thought a LTN-NCL would support a twice daily Q400.

Must have been a mistake. Disapeared off the website now.

My link to the Flybe map above still works, which is a direct link to their web site!

...yes, but now the map shows only JER from LTN, not NCL!

So it does, those naughty folk at Flybe have realised their mistake (Or was it?)!

May learn some more when the summer timetable is launched at the end of Nov, early Dec. Might not actually be a mistake, just premature to show now.
