Captain Chris Simmons passed away on Wednesday 13th October. He was 39 yrs old.

Chris was an FAA ATPL(H), CAA CPL (A) (IR), CAA ATPL(H)(IR). He achieved this as a self improver working in the industry both in the US and in the UK. He joined the emergency services (police) during the late 90's flying as a relief pilot for N Mids, Lancs, GMP, Merseyside and N Wales where he settled as a resident pilot in 2001.
Shortly thereafter he was diagnosed with oesophagul cancer and commenced treatment which resulted in the withdrawal of his professional flying priviliges.
Applying the same tenacity and sheer determination that won him the highest professional qualifications, Christopher made a miraculous recovery. He persuaded the CAA to afford him a dual pilot rating. With this alleviation he reached for the impossible and regained employment with Bristows flying the S76.
He was back, doing what he loved most - flying helicopters.
Unfortunately, the big C caught up with him almost 3 years later.

Chris's funeral service will take place at:
11.15 AM on Wednesday 20th October 2004 St Johns Church,
1, Church Lane, Great Sutton, Ellesmere Port.
To be cremated at 12 at Blacon Crematorium.

Chris was due to marry on the 20th October.

There will be a police fly past in memory of his comittment to the service.

He is survived by his fiancee and mother.
