Daily Telegraph travel awards put baby top of the LOCO league for the 2nd year running. 'Keep it mean, keep 'em keen' management philosophy must be working.

i don't think so judging by the pilot exodus.

Flown with them at company command. Would do it again.

Wouldn't dream of doing it at my own expense.

(Mainly due to a little female Hitler at check-in)

Funny how one employee can put you off an airline (or any other "SERVICE!! provider") for life!!

Daily Telegraph travel awards........
Well gosh! It must mean something if the Daily Telegraph say so!

Or maybe the same people who avoid baby are the same ones who avoid reading rubbish, biased newspapers.

Its not relevent who issued the award, its the competition thats relevent here.If you won a race when your the only one in it then you aint won much.Presumably all the low cost operators in UK+Eire were put in and if baby came out on top then they won fair and square.Well done.
ps not biassed dont work for them.

Baby whilst okay in the service they provide would have far more credibility if their sometimes very poor punctuality was improved. MAN-ORK delayed again last night by about an hour.

In fairness, the MAN-ORK was delayed due to earlier start up delays at MAN due the low vis...

Well done bmibaby! :)

Please improve on your punctuality from MAN.

Most of their flights are delayed from Manchester.

That wouldnt be the same survey that rated Heathrow as the best airport in Europe would it?

In my experience CRAP.

Flew with them recently. Bunch of Scousers effing and jeffing, shouting and p*****g everone off all flight. What did the crew do? gave them a "big up" on the PA.

When I complained at the end the cabin crew lied and said they hadn't heard anything.
Then they changed their tune and said they had told then to shut up.
Then when I asked if the captain had been informed that they had then disobeyed an order from the crew and were therefore in contravention of the ANO, this drew more lies and blank looks from both the flight an cabin crew.

Not blaming the captain as he obviously knew nothing of the behaviour but he could have actually spoken to me instead of looking at me blankly.

for the cabin crew peanuts and monkeys comes to mind.

Well, BTSM.
Although I obviously do not condone > effing and jeffing < , perhaps we consider that sophistication is the sole prerogative of God's lot, is it ?

Perhaps we were even intent on finding fault when we were dead-heading " with a LOCO! " after a long, arduous BA day, were we ?

Perhaps we might also consider that having to travel with some of the "well past sell-by-date" harridans, who considered it below their dignity to provide ANY service on BA ShortHaul AT ALL, was preferable, do we ?

LOCO, with all its irritations, is IN now whether you hanker for the good old days or not.

So how about getting down from your ivory tower and losing a little of the arrogance that probably prompted your observations.
Remember even the first astronaut was a monkey.

BM is fighting an even harder battle than competing with BA in the 80s. Most think they are doing a good job.

Read the post again- that is if you're not too thick.

Its got nothing to do with LOCO.

It was my experience on a BMI baby flight and not deadheading because if you knew anything about aviation then you'd know that wouldn't happen.

At least on BA we don't get people shouting C**T and singing "get your tits out for the lads" to be rewarded by a jokey PA wishing "Captain Pokey" a nice weekend from the cabin crew and if you doubt that I'll happily publish the day and flight number.

Also if someone complains on my flights they generally aren't lied to and I'd have the balls and the nouse to speak to someone making a reasonable complaint and not look like a guppy fish at feeding time.

So here's word of advice. Take the huge green chip off your shoulder and life will become more enjoyble.

Well I'm amazed at BMI baby winning any award. My parents have used them for their last 8 return trips from Cardiff to Alicante and they have been between 1.5 and 3 hours late on all but 2 of the sectors, perhaps on time performance was not a factor. unlike the LOCO I work for!

In addition to that the cabin have been rude and useless saying things like "do you think we like staying up all night". as a Captain myself I would see to it that any crew member that was unnecessarily rude to a paying pax got the punishment they deserve.

ps I've never been turned down by them and am very happy with my current employer!!

Agree in principle...however as with all of these airlines a couple of seats are £10 and the rest are pretty dear. Still lesson learned. Maybe it was a one off??

If you work for a QUALITY LOCO, perhaps like the one that was on telly last night, you would have seen some pretty p****d off people too. So don't lead us to believe that your lot are ANY better whatsoever!

Regarding the cabin crew, there's nothing wrong with the particular example you're quoting "do you think we like staying up all night" as it is neither condescending or rude. It is simply a genuine expression to a complaining passenger.
That passenger hasn't obviously got it into his thick head that the CABIN CREW are NOT there to be blamed for any of the delays, how ever long they might be.

You "as a captain" should be a 100% behind your crew, particularly when you are delayed, as we all know what the semi-drunk/late/rude pax might just be like on boarding, balatantly ready to blame the first crew member in sight.

behind_the_second_midland

I have had some rough flights and service from BA in the past, lies and all and lack of information when delayed for 24 hours to JFK. I have also had some pretty rough handling from BA in the past, so don't you pretend that BA is any better than any of US!!!!

Where are they all "exodussing" to, out of interest?
