Gday all,
I have been looking for a maintenance apprenticeship for roughly 2 years now. I started hunting when I was in my final year of high school and I keep managing to be turned down. I have made phone calls to various companies who say the same thing every time, made personal trips to the airport to ask in person, but I seem to be getting no where.
I was wondering if anyone has any tips on how I may be able to succeed in finding one eventually? And would a colour defficiency affect the probability of getting one also?

Thanx

JP,

Don't give up.

Colour deficencies are not relevant to engineers, as far as i know.

Mail is that most apprentices taken on now, and I'm only talking in Brisbane, have done the pre-voc course. I think it's one year.

You may now have realised that prospective employers don't care too much for the phone calls etc. They seem to take notice of things in writing though. Maybe include a small passport type photo.

Importantly, be prepared to move to do your training. Melbourne,Perth,Wogga,Auckland etc.

Good luck with it.:ok:
