I am soon having a weeks layover in AUH and am looking for contact info regarding a possible "walk-in" interview". Any info on whom to contact along with telephone number and/or e-mail address would be greatly appreciated.

It might be an interesting time to join Etihad. Rumour has it – unconfirmed at this stage – that Sheikh Zayed has just died.

I have just heard the same terrible news. Although unconfirmed reports, I have heard them today from several un-related sources. Let's hope it is not true.

The gentleman deserves credit for bringing the UAE to the forefront of global development.

Thank you Mr Wildpig for your kind words!

However, please DO NOT contact me for any matters relating to Etihad pilot recruitment because I am not involved any more. I am just finishing off with a few cases I was helping with during the September rush.

We are currently looking for A330 and A340 type rated and CURRENT pilots only. Please submit your application on line to www.etihadairways.com. This is the only way your CV will be accepted for consideration. Pilot selection is now being run by Ms Priya D'Costa.

Good luck to all applicants!:ok:

HI GUYS

DO YOU KNOW IF THEY IS MANY QUALIFIED AND CURRENT B777 PILOTS OUT THERE??

AS I USED TO FLY IT ABOUT 3 YEARS AGO ,I APPLIED TO ETIHAD AIRWAYS AND THAT MS CHARLOTTE CARR WAS QUITE RUDE IN HER REPLY AS I TOLD HER THAT I AM FLYING THE B737-700 AS A CAPTAIN AND THAT THE COCKPIT IS QUITE SIMILAR TO THE B777 SO IT WOULDN'T TAKE ME LONG TO BE CURRENT AGAIN.

CHEERS

I think this is not a matter of being rude.
Etihad made things clear when stated they are requiring ONLY CURRENT A330/40 or 777.
It is not wise to argument on this point...unfortunately for all us with plenty of hours but without that magic ratings...
Bonne chance!:{

Hi guys,

Just to let you know how things stand with someone who has the necessary type rate. I've applied both at Etihad and Emirates for DEC, and with 16K total (most wide body PIC MD11/DC10) and around 500 PIC on the 777, I haven't received a single word yet. Being in the pool for more than a year now (though I only got the 777 rating last year).

WELL I DON'T THINK THERE IS THAT MANY B777 PILOTS OUT THERE ,SO BY BEING RUDE IT DOES NOT ENCOURAGE ME TO JOIN THAT AIRLINES AND AS WELL IT IS NOT A GOOD START!!!!!

Unless there is a significant pay adjustment, based on the website for Etihad, there wont be many takers, leaving Emirates,or other local operators.

Housing, education, and base pay,all better at Emirates, and AUH is expensive to live in,and you must reside there.95K,is current EK FO allowance,in Dubai, and thats not excessive.

Morale, pretty low at Emirates, with pilots, but Etihad a good move for FOs seeking command.Me thinks, not many Capts will jump,at least not those with families.

Good luck to all.QB

Charlotte Carr is anything but rude..sad to loose her here....one can imagine they are swamped with phone calls, CV's etc....they clearly state the requirements and recency requirements....

Hay Zobbi

Well.....I Think Etiahad made every thing so clear.....

So why to call her rude...Sorry but I don't agree with you at all, I Have applied for Cabin Crew but until today there is no reply but I will never call them rude...Remember it's a new airline and they are extremely busy these days with all the office work and recruitment work and by the way some of Etihad staff are working 7 days a week NON-STOP...just to set up the new Airlien.

This is my opinion....

Last year, sometime in Aug (if my memory served me right), when the Etihad ad for 777 pilots came out in Flt Int'l, I applied with 2000+ hrs on the aircraft and a valid/current rating but alas, didn't hear a hoot from them. Of course, they subsequently withdrew the ad due to a change in decision to order the airbus instead.

For those 777 pilots who have applied and have not heard anything yet, I apologise, but please hold on. 777 recruitment is going to start in a big way very soon.

So, if you are TYPE RATED AND CURRENT and would be interested in joining us, please submit your CV on line.

For those who have already submitted their CVs, I would recommend that you update your hours on type, etc.

Please be patient with the recruitment team if you don't hear anything, it's a huge and difficult job.

Sorry, Mr Zobbi if you thought I was rude. I can assure you I didn't mean to be.

Good luck to you all.:)

767 Widow,

I assume You are working for Etihad and are involved in the recruitment. My situation is that I am currently flying the A321 as a Commander and have previously been on the A330 (+1500 hrs.) I am wondering if it would be an advantage if I went ahead and got myself current on the A330 through a PC?

Sincerely,

I Have applied for Cabin Crew position and I attended the open day in London as well, Still no reply as well but I will try to get in touch with by my self, I can understand what you are going through....

What I'm trying to say here...YES SOMEHOW THEY ARE SLOW....but this is doesn't mean to call them rude or even to name a person here....I Attend the open day in London...and there were more than wonderful....and friendly as well.......

If I have a problem or hard time with someone I think is better to keep HIM or HER nameless....

I thought that we normally check the record of all pilots that come to us with certain type raiting from other Gulf carriers. Recent case had some hours on 330 and no resignation letter. What is going on?

People,

As we all know the industry is very small worldwide.
An internet site like this makes it more so!

From what I gather from talking to cabin crew friends ex GF the word inside Etihad is all good.

It is a decent place to work, wages and conditions are fine in comparision to other regional ops, and staff moral is high.

There is lot of ex-GF staff there and many others around the globe waiting on interviews, including non GF staff.

Most would agree it is very good of Charlotte to reveal herself on Pprune.
My friends who have worked with her in the past have only nice reports about her as a person.

Fielding multiple calls and e-mails from insistant applicants can be draining to anyone, let a lone a person that finds it is not their job roll to answer these requests thanks to a well meaning posting of her details on Pprune!
Please understand she is unable to do much more than she already has done for many applicants.
As I recently found out she is no longer in recruitment.
Etihad is a small company with very limited resources, and with respect it is also an Arab company.
For those of us that have been employed in this part of the world previously we understand that little is done in a hurry there.
For those that have not lived in the ME, that is the way it is.
For those that have applied for Tech and cabin crew positions be patient, stand by! :} :} :}

Pay and Conditions

The website quotes the base salary for a type rated F/O at $3700-$4600 (which I assume is monthly and USD) which seems a little on the low side of the pay scale.

Can anyone who is currently working for Etihad shed some light on the rostering/duty times/block times/days off per roster/turnaround times/standard of hotel accomodation whilst on duty etc

I note the website also states ;

Allowance per duty day of $123

Is this an additional duty pay or a blanket rate for allowances whilst away from base?

I note from a previous reply that it was mentioned you must reside in AUH and couldn't live in DXB and drive to work being only an hour away ( driving at a reasonable speed!). Is this so ops can drag you out to the airport at 5 mins notice whilst on a standby?

I'm assuming all of these quieries would be answered at the interview stage but I think sending an email to Etihad directly with such quieries would be futile given their overloaded situation.

I can appreciate if people wish to keep this info private so emails would be most appreciated.

Down_Under002

I don't work for EY, yet , but as far as I know the allowance per duty day should be added to the total finacial package, ex; if you work 18 days per month add 18X$123 to the base salary of $3700-$4600. All figures are in US dollars and in monthly payment. Sorry but I can't elaborate about the other questions.
