View Full Version : Wouldn't this be a useful function?

What about when I right click on my mouse, as well as saying Undo/Cut/Copy/Paste/Delete, it also said Spell?

Would be a godsend for sloppy spelling PPRuNe-ers!

OK... what about a utility to reverse the case of selected text? For those of us who can't touch-type, and occasionally hit Caps Lock by mistake :\

Shift + F3 toggles selected text between lower case - lower case with initial captal letters - upper case. :O

One shouldn't argue with the ORACle, but ... only if Word is the editor?:)

Thanks for the info re Word, ORAC, but yes, I would like to locate a more general utility if possible. I think all it would be required to do would be to edit the Clipboard... if I was clear on how to read from/write to the Clipboard I might be tempted to have a go myself :ooh:

Gin Slinger,

There are two free Spellcheckers:

IESpell 2.0.1 build 325 (http://www.download.com/IESpell/3000-2378-10220980.html?tag=lst-0-1) (which Southwest mentioned)

And

InnerX 7.2 (http://www.download.com/InnerX/3000-2356-10184812.html?tag=lst-0-4)

[No Screenie Available]

I have not used either one.

Take Care,

Richard

I'd settle for an audible tone when any key is pressed with CapsLock on. I know there's a toggle tone for the C/L itself but unless your den/office has a really, really long echo, it's not much help.

Edited to remove my reply - ORAC already said what Word does.

TextMorph (http://www.laughandlift.com/programs/#TEXTMORPH)

"TextMorph... is also a text editor, similar to Notepad....TextMorph has a number of "tools" that you can apply to the text, such as converting from text to HTML and vice versa, cleaning up emails (removing all those ">" signs and so forth), search and replace by words OR multiple paragraphs, changing upper/lower case, etc."....

"What's more is it can also repetitively do these tasks across large numbers of files (using TextMorph's Multiple File Morph wizard). For instance, if you have 500 text files, you can in less than a minute, convert all 500 of them to HTML files complete with all of the formatting that you wish in the files (such as background image, etc.)"....

"TextMorph should run on all 32-bit Windows platforms and is easy to install and uninstall. It has been thoroughly tested on Windows 95B and Windows XP. "....

Can't resist a challenge, can you ORAC? ;)

That's certainly the nearest thing I've seen to what I'm looking for. A bit heavy on memory for ad-hoc use, but not necessarily a problem. I may well use this.

Cheers
