AirAsia: pilots training at Bangkok Aviation Center

"The dream of becoming pilot might come true for 2,000 young Thais as Thai AirAsia offers a training course from February 2005.

The low fare airline signed an agreement with the Bangkok Aviation Center, a leading private pilot school in Thailand. Future students will do their training by using the most recent technologies available at the school as well as the Jeppesen flying method considered as one of the best programs in the aviation industry.

To qualify to Thai AirAsia future pilots' training, applications must be processed between October 15 to November 10th uniquely on Thai AirAsia's website at www.airasia.com. Between mid November and February, various tests and interviews will be conducted before the definitive selection is made on February 21st. Applicants must be Thai national, male or female, and not be over 28 years old, be a university graduate with a bachelor degree with a good command of both spoken and written English.

Every year, two batches of 40 pilots each will come out from the BAC with 200 hours of flight training.

Hopefully that means more work for the Ansett Flight Simulator centre currently flat out training Air Asia students on the 737.

I doubt that as Air Asia are opening their own centre in KL
