From www.nzx.com :

Air New Zealand Limited ("Air NZ") hereby requests the NZX grant a trading halt in respect of the Company's ordinary shares pursuant to Listing Rule 5.4.1(a):

Air New Zealand has been advised by Singapore Airlines Limited, a holder of 37,833,309 of the Ordinary Shares of the Company, being 6.3% of the total issued shares, that it intends to offer those shares for sale. The sale is to be effected by an underwritten accelerated bookbuild to be conducted by UBS New Zealand Limited.

The trading halt is requested for up to one trading day, commencing from market open on Tuesday, 5 October.

We understand that the bookbuild will end no later than 10.00am (NZ), Wednesday, 6 October. Air New Zealand expects to be advised if the bookbuild is concluded earlier and in time for the trading halt to be lifted prior to the close of the market on Tuesday, 5 October.

Air New Zealand knows of no reason why a trading halt should not be granted.
