It was a commorative sword to mark their 40th Anniversary presented by Jock Maitland. The Reds gave their first UK display at the Biggin Hill Air Fair in 1965.

In the days of "cut back on everything", I'm surprised the Red Barrows Hawks haven't been changed for a 4-ship of Grob Tutors. Think of the savings in terms of staff, 'tailored' flying suits and PR gumpf...Some enterprising accountant must have looked......:eek:

The Red Sparrows have made made far more money for Britain by selling Hawks than they have ever cost the taxpayer. They are a bargain. Long may they continue to vanquish Manchester UAS! :ok:
Now lets get them into Typhoons to help keep the aviation industry in business...
