Bit of a random combination, and not sure if it's just galley fm cranked up to the max, but heard mention of a Monarch rotation out to New Orleans from LGW this winter. Quite a good candidate for the chinese whispers trophy, but wondered if anyone else had heard anyhing, and indeed who the flight might be for?

regards,

It's been done before hasn't it? MSY is a cruise hub as well as being an excellent destination in its own right.

"The Holiday sails to Playa Del Carmen and Cozumel, Mexico and the Conquest sails to Montego Bay, Jamaica; Grand Cayman; Progresso and Cozumel, Mexico

From November to April, Royal Caribbean's Grandeur of the Seas sets sail for a 7-night Western Caribbean cruise from New Orleans to Key West, Progresso and Cozumel, Mexico."

After all the developments at Manchester this week, I'd say a charter flight to MSY is the least surprising news.

As mentioned MSY flights from the UK are nothing new on the charter scene, Brits and Thomas Cook have been operating Ad-Hoc charters there for cruise companies in the Winter for at least a year or two.

2 Britannia 767-300 rotations planned out there this Winter on 28/01/05 (from MAN and EMA) and a 767-200 on the same day routing GLA-BGR-MSY.

The 763s should then return to MAN and BHX respectively, and the 762 non-stop to BOH then onto LGW.

Is the MON flight a few ad-hoc jobs, or are you suggesting a weekly service will be launched?
