Flybe. announces new routes to Brest and Cherbourg
30th September 2004
Flybe., Europe’s third largest low fares airline, today announces a further expansion of its services to France from the UK, with the launch of two new routes from Southampton to Brest and Cherbourg. Flybe is also announcing new routes to Brest from Exeter International Airport and Birmingham.
The launch of the routes means travellers can fly direct to Northern France on each route, with frequent flights beginning at the start of the summer timetable on 23rd March 2005.
Fares start from £29 one way (including taxes) to Cherbourg, and £34 to Brest.
The new routes to Brest and Cherbourg follow the launch of a new Birmingham to Chambery route last week and underline the importance of the French market to flybe. Over 10% of all flybe.’s routes to France are where the airline has no direct competition from other low fares carriers. Flybe. is the UK carrier with the largest regional route network to France.
Flybe. now operates 15 routes from the UK to France serving, Bordeaux, Cherbourg, Chambery, La Rochelle, Perpignan, Toulouse, Bergerac and Brest.
Mike Rutter, Sales and Marketing Director, flybe., said: “Demand from the South Coast, Midlands and the South West for routes to France has always been high, we are simply responding to that demand with more options than ever before for the consumer. We have aggressively increased our operations throughout the year, focussing on marrying convenient regional travel with great value and choice. Consumers can now make substantial cost savings while also saving up to 12 hours journey time by opting to take flybe. to Northern France over other available options.”
