The Mrs and I were pax on EZY3714, G-EZYO, B733 that went tech at Malaga last Friday, 24th September, 2004.

Was due out at 1650 hours. Initially delayed until 2200. Part for G-EZYO arrived from Liverpool on another EZY flight. Pax got anxious when the next STN EZY3716 was boarding. Twenty five spare seats on '3716 so pax with babies were boarded and then by sequence number until full. The LTN flight was full. The repair did not work and just after midnight pax were advised that another aircraft was due at 0515 for a 0545 departure.

Pax woken from their attempted slumber around 4 am that aircraft was now due at 0415. At last got airborne from Malaga at 0453 local on a 737-700.

G-EZYO looked in a bad way externally, paint pealing etc but think the prob might have been with instrumentation? Just about saw some tools visible through the cockpit window.

Got back to STN at 0633 local. Hope the Tokyo bound passenger made it to Heathrow in time.

Anyone know what the problem was with G-EZYO?

I always thought it is a bad idea to fly on LoCo for longhaul connection... Just my $0.05
