A MAN has been charged with disorderly conduct following a bomb scare on a flight from northwest Western Australia to Perth.
A spokesman for Perth police said the Qantas flight from Paraburdoo was taxiing along the runway about 7.05pm (WST) yesterday when a 31-year-old man requested a flight attendant stow some luggage.
"The alleged comments were passed that the package contained a bomb," he said.
The flight attendant told the captain and the plane returned to the terminal where passengers were told to disembark, the spokesman said.
Police were called and searched the man and his luggage, but no bomb was found, the spokesman said.
"He was searched, as was his luggage, and it was found to contain no explosives."
The man was charged with disorderly conduct and is due to appear before Paraburdoo Court of Petty Sessions on Tuesday.
Passengers were allowed back on board the aircraft to resume the flight to Perth, the spokesman said.
