Viva International is a scam , check this out.

For all of you that follow these scam airlines, check this one out.

http://www.vivainternational.org and http://www.theyreallysuck.org

They are selling penny stocks using the stock code of (vivi)

http://ragingbull.lycos.com/mboard/boards.cgi?board=BB%3AVIVI&origsymbols=vivi

look here for some of the share holders they have scammed.

Their scam is that they claim that they are starting an airline out of the Dominican Republic, but,
in reality, they are just pumping and dumping their junk penny stock.

Be informed.

If the web designer didn't get paid for his work, he should delete or suspend the website.
Never hand over the control of a website without full payment. A valuable lesson for the next
website project. This kind of 'all singing and dancing' website is exactly what scammers need
to lure investors to part with their money. Remember, FLASH - NO CASH !

How should anyone ever take a company with a .org domain name seriously?

Are you saying that pprune.org is a dodgy operation? :)

By the way, the official line for .org is: "It is intended to serve the noncommercial community, but all are eligible to register within .org. " (from www.iana.org (http://www.iana.org))

Viva have been around for at least three years promoting their Dominican airline. They actually have a "business plan" posted on their site that says they're looking for Russian aircraft for caargo operations out of the DR, but I wouldn't hold my breath.

Robert Scott used to be the driving force behind Viva. The management that runs Viva now acquired another penny stock the hawked pre-paid long distance cards and auto parts out of Traverse City, Michigan, before they ever became Viva International.

When they first announced service, they planned on wet-leasing some Falcon Air Express 727-200s between Puerto Rico and the DR to to the US. After that failed to materialize they became involved in Northeast Bolivian and Miami-based Flightstar Group with their L-1011 on NEBA's certificate. I actually believe Viva owned or held some sort of equity in NEBA during this time. But, again, it never went too far, Flightstar pulled the L-1011 and NEBA broke off their relationship with Viva. They also had (or have) a quasi relationship with San Juan-based Fina Air.

At some point in between here they also issued press releases saying they signed an MOU with a NY-based company to operate 747s to India and acquire 767s for the Dominican operation.

Eventually, the did acquire one asset: Royal Aruban Airlines. They had a DC-9-15 painted at COOPESA in Costa Rica, eventually went to East African, and, alas, the airline never went anywhere.

More recently they had a management fall-out. One of the principal's left and bought back Royal Aruban from Viva. This left Oscar Hasan, a Dominican national iirc, in charge of the company. So I am at a total loss for what is happening at the airline now but, yes, I wouldn't hold my breath with them in the least.

I work for Flightstar, the only involvement they had with Viva was that they shared an office in the Jet Center at FLL. Now Flightstar still has an office there but Viva is gone. As far as NEBA, I was in Bolivia twice for Flightstar to work with the DGAC and train the flight attendants. Viva was absolutely never involved in Bolivia. All NEBA is/was is a shell with no planes, no AOC and no nothing. The L1011 that was in Bolivia is in Texas and has just been repainted and is on the way to Africa. It is on a new AOC and has been leased. I will go with the L1011 to Africa.

Ask Longhaul about Viva....he seems to have the best information on those folks.

Ann,

I know Viva wasn't involved when you guys had the L-1011 in Bolivia, but they were beforehand. See this archived press release:

Viva was also a camping ground for some of the ex-Northeast Airlines Swaziland people for a few months. There was a press release issued about that, too.

John was smart to get out of that deal.
