Anyone there please who can offer help (by PM) with getting started in Embedded VB 3.0? Loads of tutorials on line for 'mainline' vb, but cannot find any for this.
TIA

Try Visual Studio .NET as it does have the ability to create apps for the pocket PC not sure is older versions of VB can do so.

Thanks, H - people do seem to be moving that way. Is there a Pocket download for .net?

I think you have to buy the whole visual studio then create yout Handheld app from the section within that you may be able to write code in notpad and compile it up from the tools that come with the .Net framework but you wont get the debugging aids you get within the IDE

If anyone else is struggling to find out how this works, I have finally got going (a bit) with the help of this site (http://forums.devbuzz.com/forumid_35/tt.htm) which has a forum where help can be found AND I have located an on-line beginners' tutorial.

I think you are going down the road I travelled. Previously an owner of a Psion 3c, for which I wrote a few application using the built in EPOC compiler. Have moved on to Pocket PC and attempting to do the same.

I found trying to go down the .Net route very confusing and potentially very expensive. I ended up with NSBasic (http://www.nsbasic.com). Does not come with much documentation, but it is fairly easy to pick up.

Thanks for that link, TB. If I get to the ´commercial´ writing stage (which I doubt!) that looks good. Meantime I´ll crawl along with what I have at the moment. Any other links to tutorials/fora still welcome.
