How long did it take you to get your 1st airline job?

(from completion of course to acceptance by airline)

Please answer people who completed their training in the last 2 or 3 yrs, Im trying to work out an estimate of how long I should expect to be instructing for before I can start making bigger payments back to the bank,

Very greatful for any replies :ok:

7 years from issue of FATPL to airline job, 5 years before I got any full - time salaried flying job (air ambulance). Only now just starting to make a proper hole in the debt repayments, now I've got my first airline command. Remember that many FO salaries aint that glamourous either these days, especially when you're supporting a family!!

I did all the usual two-career instructing-while-trying-to-hold-down-a-menial-job thing in the intervening years, but you may well find your debt increases during that period, just while trying to survive on subsistence instructor wage :(
