Good luck PJ..TransAer was a great outfit, and there's quite a few would go back if it runs as before. A truly international and multi-cultural airline as I remember, even with a few flaws.

Hey all,. .. .TLA was good in its day ! It had a great bunch of guys and girls in all Departments.. .. .Perhaps with the right aircraft it could happen again - but please, lets hope the likes of CJK, TLB, TLK, TLL, TLM or TLQ dont come back !. .. .Good luck to them !

Nice to have the airline back but not with some of 'attitude' I found during an interview. They were rude and hostile. I have never experienced that before or since. . .. .I had no positive experiences with TransAer, hopefully the new airline will leave that behind this time.

What did you glean from your interview, Steepclimb? Is TransAer really re-starting, what types? How many? Base? Management? When? This would be interesting to many of us, and is appropriate info for Rumours and News. Please enlighten us all.. .. .Shame you were treated rudely at interview..never a justification for that behaviour, I agree.

Miss C. .. .I think he means an old interview.. .. .Besides is'nt Prime the Pheonix from the Transaer ashes based in EMA. I could be wrong but I think they were operating one acft ex EI-TLQ.

Sorry Desk Driver, Prime is the pax arm of HC Airlines (although PJ was an "advisor" whilst everything was set up!). Based at EMA, aircraft reg is G.HLAD (previously TLQ as you say), and fairly busy, thank you!! <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="biggrin.gif" />

No need to worry about -CJK coming back!!!. .. .Check out Airliners.net for photo proof of what's left of her in January (tried to post the link but it didn't work - just go to the photo search engine and type in EI-CJK for loads of pictures)

Transaer was by far the most fun I ever had in aviation. It was a remarkable organisation that led to many deep and lasting friendships. There was a spirit there which I have yet to find again. I think we employed nearly two dozen nationalities at one point and had aircraft spread halfway around the globe. If this rumor is true, and I sincerely hope that it is, my CV goes in to PJ as soon as I can find the address. . .. .Happiness is a cold beer in Cuba! Now all we have to do is find TLG and Dave Griffiths…….

BSCU:. .. .Not everyone shares your fondness for Dave Griffiths. Personally, I just loved his habit of slipping a roster change (revision # 7 for the week) under your hotel room door at 0300! Not! My other complaint was the lack of a reasonable standard in some of the "off-shore" skippers they hired. I saw a few scary things when they were in charge. It seemed that TLA simply wanted a warm body with a license.. .. .I did have some fun there though. The posting in AYT was marvelous (except for the Efes).. .. .Scud

BSCU, agree with you whole-heartedly. My 19 month secondment with TransAer was the highlight of my aviation career. Never had a better 6 months than I had at Heraklion. Greatest group of people that I have ever known. Would board a plane and go back tomorrow.

Scud Runner-DG is a friend of mine and whilst he could be hard at times, he also had to put up with some almighty moaning! Also some of those warm bodies you talk about, got one of the best breaks they could have wished for with TLA. I know there were some strange folk employed, but on the whole I thought that it ran well. By the way, I was in AYT too, including the last one at Club Sara. Wonderful summer!

At Man he was the most ineffective 'Manager' ever - never there when there were problems, GHI couldn't find him and spent most of his time wondering round with mobile phone - also knew very little and just said 'oh its Dublins fault' if there were problems without trying to find a solution - more faces than the town hall clock!!

Starting to sound like we're all back at TransAer..mixture of moans, laughs, and general support for eachother...best outfit I ever flew for.

Oh Dear I have started something here! Stand by what I said in the first place. I liked DG.. .. .On a lighter note, three A321's may be in PJ's sights. Any one know any thing about this?

Well the latest I hear is that Mrs McGoldrick was in DXB last week and stated that PJ HAD bought the IAT AOC. I also hear that the three recently laid up AIR FRANCE A321's are his target aircraft. Is it also true that a certain famous Irish flight crew recruitment agent has been looking for ex TransAer people for the start of operations?

Sorry, Forgot to say hello to two girls in DXB. Is that you M & R?

BSCU. .. .Ignorant little chap that I am, I thought that "a certain famous Irish flight crew recruitment agent" was owned by Transaer, so no surprises there.. .. .At least it will be the one company that presumably will not have to reject Regan's (if he is still there), insistence at flying out totally unnecessarily at the client's expense to cement the deal.

I was in TransAer nearly two years, Man Based. Great friends, great colleges, excellent experience.
As ex-pat, all the Irish were very friendly
I left many friends in Ireland and in Manchester...including Dave Griffith & Saul Jones
I hope TransAer or another PJ's airline with the same philosophy take off even with CJK or TLB , that flying was great.

Guys - I have gr8 news - have heard (on great authority) that PJ McGoldrick has bought a new irish airline called EU-JetOps. This airline currently only has exec aircraft operations. Understand that PJ is pulling together a management team and rumour is that he is already negotiating deals on A320 / A321 - TLA guys - we're back!!

I am fairly certain on this info, but has anyone else heard anything??? If true, would book my flight back to Dublin tomorrow.
