HI,
I am told that 220-hours pilots are joining the airline with no type rating! Any truth to the story??

Perhaps Korean Nationals. I know a chinese guy who trained in Canada and got hired at Air Macau on the A320 fleet with only 230 hours. If you have Korean Citizenship then most likely you can jump right in.
