Confusion must be reigning out there!

easyJet.com use "Nottingham East Midlands"

bmibaby.com use "East Midlands Airport"

I have just booked flights with easyJet on the internet, but perhaps only because I know of the erm...name change. How many potential internet punters could easyJet be losing because they cannot find EMA under "E" in the drop-down options?

Also, as a private pilot, should I call 134.17 and call them
"East Midlands"
"Nottingham East Midlands"
"Nottingham Derby Leicester East Midlands"
"Nottingham Derby Leicester Robin Hood Sherwood Forrest East Midlands"

What was wrong with
"Castle Don"?

DubTrub, you can call them whatever you like, don't expect a reply though :D

I believe they refer to themselves at East Midlands as to not cause confusion between themselves & Nottingham (Tollerton)

why would he not get a reply?
believe it or not the ATC unit is not the same as that with a bad rep some years ago-hopefully some of the pilots that get a good service from us out there will agree!
and yes from an air traffic point of view we are still east midlands

Just by way of a correction DubTrub

easyJet list the airport as both "East Midlands" and "Nottingham East Midlands"

bmibaby list is as "Nottingham East Midlands"

..and don't forget Ryanair who are now more active at EMA - they call it plain, old "East Midlands (EMA)".

Good Lord, Ryanair missed a trick there!

Why not Edinburgh South, London North or even Cardiff East? ;)
