Happy for things on the up side for the Southern partners,
Unhappy for the events that could be in one the most rich SouthAmerican countries, Venezuela,

Well, we'll wait for Conviasa to come by...

You make it sound like the party is over. I thought Aeropostal is going global by linking with AeroHonduras. One step at a time. . .

Still, hard for any country to have many meaningful advances in it's aviation industry with Category II looming over it.

Party hasn't even started, and don't think it will start anytime soon,
Aeropostal could have had long range aircraft a long time ago serving destinations in Europe as well as new generation aircrafts doing the US routes, instead, they are after any cheap deal with leftovers from any carriers, forgoing noise regulations. It's just not a flag carrier,
Maybe this is a political problem as well,
Heard they are increasing frecuencies to Havana to about 4 daily, good news for FC...
I think it's just too hard for any party to justify the investments needed for a decent operation these days, if it doesn't come from the goverment or someone really involved in aviation.
Copa and LAN come to mind as those examples with success in this side of the world.
