Maybe I'm putting 2 and 2 together and getting 5, but I wonder if this Monarch aircraft will replace a MYT aircraft next year? In other words, is it operating on behalf of MYT?

eg: If it was Cosmos, it would almost certainly be a Monarch based a/c

Most of the flight timings are not to dissimilar to one of the TCX 757s. Wonder if TCX are just going to have one aircraft next year, with MON picking up the pieces.

I was thinking the same thing CentreFix25. If this is true, the only destination which doesn't seem to fit is Pisa, this must be for Cosmos rather than Thomas Cook.

Good news for Newcastle if true... strange though... this summer (04) the Birmingham base went from 2 x A321 down to one. My Cosmos holiday was meant to be MON flights but it was EAF, they picked up many of the wholes in the market (the shorter routes). Perhaps The BHX base wasnt viable for 2 aircraft? Wonder if BHX might see a 2 aircraft base again next year, or if it will be just 1 for the foreseable future...

Where did you get this info from? Good news if it is true, as Excel are also basing two a/c at NCL for Summer 05, might be a problem finding places for them to park though.......

I think one of the EGBB based MON A321s was pinched due to the increase in scheduled services from Luton & Gatwick which they needed this aircraft for.

I would assume that the problem turnaround would shift the Monday programme an hour earlier, given the long rest of Sunday.

Got the info from a certain ticketing office...

all operated for Cosmos, and as follows

Tue ALC - First Choice
Tue HER - Olympic
Fri MAH - First Choice
Sat FAO - First Choice / Thomas Cook
Sat PSA - Crystal (not Cosmos)

Apparrently, NCL is showing the most 'incremental demand' from all of Avro / Cosmos UK departure points and the A/C will come from one of MON's 'smaller' bases, maybe EDI or LPL?

The Excel timetable is available on excelairways.com or freedomflights.co.uk, and although the timetable has some gaps in it, most of the week there are two based aircraft with Excel flight numbers on them.

Yes I believe Excel will be basing in Birmingham next year. they were supposed to this year but it never came to fruition, but from what I've heard its a go for next summer...

Regarding two XLA aircraft at NCL next year, you may actually find that it is one XLA 738 and another charter company operating on behalf of Excel, which they quite often do. For example they had Scandic and Hola last year and Islandsflug this year. All operators operating flights onbehalf of XLA using own aircraft/flight numbers and crews.

HH contract for NCL is believed to be for 2 years.

The Saturday Monarch Alicante flight got a pier stand for the first time ever today, makes me think NCL and MON have been chatting. Wait and see where it parks next week!

It spent most of the early part of the season on pier, mainly on the domestic side. However since its on the ground 4-5hrs, thats why its been off pier during the peak season!

What aircraft would Monarch actually base, would it be an A320, A321. A300 or a 757.
