I have plans of applying to the CX Pilot Cadet Programme within the next 6 months. In the meantime, I'm traveling to HK next week (currently live in the USA).

Would this be a good time to try and obtain a HK Class 1 medical? This is the certificate that is required to be an airline pilot in HK, correct?

The point is...I should verify that I can obtain the certificate before moving on. I guess there's no point in even applying to the program if I can't even obtain a medical, right?

Should I just make an appointment with an approved doctor who can provide this certificate? How much will it cost and what does the examination entail?

Thanks for all your help.

I think u might as well get ur CAT1 medical in the US... it's a pretty similar test as the HK one, and even if u have an HK CAT 1, CX will still require u to do their medical test... no point in rushing urself...
