You can read in the Far East forum, SIAEC have problems keeping contract LAEs as the rates are so low, I think currently they pay around Sing$ 47 an hour and minimum, 176 hours a month. As a connie your perks are virtually nil, no staff travel, no provident fund etc etc. Also no training as a connie, but maybe as direct hire they would offer something.

My guess is this is SIAEC attempt to hire direct staff, they used to do it a few years back, but the HR department could not cope, hence they went the contract staff route via local agencies.

Singapore is a great place to live, nice quality of life, but not sure what being direct hire to SIAEC would be like. They are a lumbering typical semi-government airline, too many chiefs and not enough indians.

Thanks Jango for the feedback. Anyone out there know more about the deal offered presently? Training is very important as the type of aircraft operated by SIA are not the type of licenses most Aussies have and it would be good to stay current. Thought for you guys out there...:D :D
