SFB Closed Fri, Sat

Just heard on the BBC that SFB will be closed Fri,Sat and maybe Sun.

Just wondered how this will effect UK tour operators with so many pax displaced especially with the weekend being so popular for Deps to this destination.

This is a common occurrence during hurricane season: Affected carriers will have already made contingency plans to Florida bound (and subsequent non-hurricane) sectors. One good thing about tropical storms - maybe the only good thing - is that you get notice of their arrival (usually). :(

SFB, MCO & TPA shut this weekend. Not expecting to reopen until PM Sunday. MIA is wavering at the mo.

FC & FCA have put an extra flight out on Monday exLGW @ 1300ish to try to alleviate the backlog. Not sure if the other tourops have done likewise.
