The cat is out of the bag, these pictures prove that far from resting on Laurels, much work has been going on behind the scenes at a secret airfield somewhere in Lancs.

Mr T,

Mod 1 - Might have helped DA6
Mod 2 - Why??????
Mod 3 - Lift is a gift, thrust is a must.
Mod 4 - How much noise do you really want from behind you, (other than Mod 3 in max a/b)?

Laughing my ar$e off here at K15

Can see why they deleted the cannon. To save weight not money. The interruptor gear for mod1 must have weighed quite a lot!!

Emitex,

Good to hear from you.

How was the 'quality' rtb service provided by 't bunglin baron's staff?

Rest assured - nothing here has changed. Fawlty Towers still doing business as usual.

"Mod 2 - Why??????"

Oh my word; Gloster are back in business :oh: The mooted supersonic Javelin is almost in service :ok:

Oh the years young Darbouy spent at a Northern Station, in the 50's, where there were more than just a few of mixed Mk's about. Character building just to be a quarters brat living in the MATZ. :ok:

Can we have the Saphire back please? Even after all these years the sound brings up goosebumps :E: Don't mention zee centreline closures

What a great sound from those Saphires! Never ever got to see a Javelin in flight. Interesting to be reminded of such a short-lived aircraft when other threads are going on about the Canberra and B-52 longevity. Heard some tales about Javelin stall and departure characteristics which might explain its short service life, that and corrosion problems too??

Please do not try to read anything between the lines of these Typhoon Mods, they do nothing more than show what fun you can have with Paint Shop Pro and help to disprove the myth that the camera never lies - it quite clearly does.

The jet has ample thrust, excellent handling and IMHO a single seat version would have been plenty. Two-seater only provided to let their airships fly without having to do all that silly groundschool stuff and to put the fear of god into the jps when it comes to check rides. That and a lack of faith that technology would deliver.....

Not my work on the photos by the way, I just came by them
