Riyadh..... exciting place, not.....
Do any Pruners know of somewhere close to the Sheraton with even half-reliable / half-speedy internet access? The system in the hotel doesn't like my email provider (& is painfully s-l-o-w).
Thanx

Have you tried the conenction in the crew-lounge? Careful of viruses but it normally works. Or walk out the door, turn left, walk up the service road (towards town), past the school to the building with the yellow logo on the blue sign - Al Jeraisy - you can buy a dial-up pay-as-you-go connection there.
Good luck.

Hi 4HP,
Many thanks........
We're operating out of the exec terminal so (presuming its in the main terminal) the crew-lounge might not be accessible.
Will give Al Jeraisy a try.
Thanks for the info.
Cheers

I would hazard a guess that 4HP was talking about the crew lounge in the Sheraton and not expecting you to stay at the airport :)
From a personal point of view, i would like to ask what do you think of the capital city......
Mutt.
Hmmm, a loaded question if there ever was one...:}
At one time, the welcome for US citizens at the Marine club was very nice, don't know about now.

Given the (probably sensible) complete lack of notice / advertisment of such a facility by the hotel I didn't know it existed. However...... access to my email appears to be blocked by the Sheratons ISP (according to them it's blocked 'cause Tiscali supposedly have porn on their site (really?? must look harder when I'm logging on in future :D ))

As 411A says, a loaded question if ever there was one.
Suffice to say, I was in Baghdad for about 5 months, late 03 / early 04, I preferred that. ;)
Cheers

If your name's on the list you're still welcome. Still a good crowd there.
I trust you came right with the Netaccess, AAOps. There was a bunch of dial-up options available a few months ago & I haven't heard that they've been restricted.
