The airline have chosen the Dash 8-300 as replacement for the F-27 fleet, SAAB 2000 was the strongest contender along with the ATR 42-300/500 but both failed, according to one source Bombardier offered heavy discount to PIA for the sale making them only the thrd carrier in the Central/South Asian region to operate the type.
