Times report today suggests Easyjet will cut routes and aircraft, any idea where ?

The thing about the article that I found interesting was that Stelios denied that he had any plans to take the airline private. He will have to if he wants it to survive what looks to be a coming price war/ demand reduction/ overcapacity situation. As Branson found out many years ago it is almost impossible to run airlines if you are constantly having to watch the share price.

I suspect that the real plan is to get away from the stock market. Then they can run the airline in wahtever way they want. Leave it on the stock market and the analysts will be baying for cutbacks or whatever until their short term interests are satisfied.

Harry Goodman did the same with ILG when Air Europe planned to expand as everybody else was pulling in their horns. Without the constraint of shareholders, it was not long before privately owned ILG came a cropper.
