Plane crash claims 25
22/08/2004 Caracas - A military airplane crashed in a mountainous region in northeastern Venezuela killing all 25 passengers. The airplane was reported lost Saturday afternoon after it encountered bad weather, a spokesperson for the Air Rescue Service said. Ten members of the Venezuelan military and 15 civilians were aboard and all died instantly when their plane went down in the Mariara region, some 100km from Caracas, the spokesperson said. The crash was found after nightfall on Saturday, and civilian and military rescue squads reached the site early on Sunday.
