Not sure if this is the correct forum for this, but here in South Africa regs are different for plank wing so here goes;
As I understand it, a grade 3 instructor cannot issue type conversions, e.g Bell 206. However they can do ab initio training on the Jetty. If a grade 3 instructor flies with a student pilot in a Jetty that's okay then, but what about flying with a PPL holder in a Jetty, when the PPL doesn't have the rating? Can the PPL still log the hours or would they be considered as conversion to type hours?
Also can anyone please tell me how many hours of instruction must be done per year to keep the FI rating (South Africa)? Is there a difference for grade 2 & grade 3?
