I'm currently running XP and experiencing a few problems. If my PC is left on minding its own business for over an hour or so (time varies) it seems to stutter about once every 2 seconds i.e. mouse movement will stutter, so will music etc etc. This makes it impossible to connect to the internet.

The only way I seem to be able to solve it is by switching off at the mains and rebooting which gets the disk check program running. Have tried the disk checking through the normal menus but it doesn't work

Help, before this pc goes through my office window!!

I had similar a while ago. Download the latest virus update and do a full scan, see what that comes up with.

Lara crofts pants,

It does sound like you have some pests in the computer. Does this happen while the computer is connected to the Internet?

Read the Guide in the thread:

Guide for Eliminating Spyware, Adware, and Random Popups (http://www.pprune.org/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=117136)

After following the guide, if you still have problems, then download Hijack This! (http://www.thespykiller.co.uk) and post the log file here. Do NOT make any repairs. (Hijack This! pulls up everything, including programs that are supposed to be in your computer.)

Take Care,

Richard
