Thought this might be of interest since Fenix has been discussed here so many times before.

A start-up Colombian airline aims high, even though its wings are clipped for now.

Investors are betting on a new international airline, even though it can't yet fly within its home country, Colombia. Founded recently by a banker and a pilot, the new airline-called Fenix-wants to rise from the ashes of the country's bankrupt airline Avianca.

"Whatever the lowest price we can offer for a ticket is, that's what we'll offer."

From a business perspective, does this statement make much sense???

and are asking some employees to chip in another $3.5 million. Pilots are target investors, even those who don't work for Fenix. "The idea is that 500 pilots pay around $7,000 each, and they'll end up with 50% of the company,'' says Gómez.

Ahhh. . . . . ugggghhhhh :uhoh: (as if only airline employees are dim-witted enough to appreciate such a business plan).

Founded recently by a banker and a pilot

Only someone with such a background could be attracted to further destabilize already the world's most unprofitable industry. :hmm:

Suggested name of airline: AIR BOHICA :E
