Da Toad's fabulous idea in offering increases in meal allowances, bonuses on retirement after 15 years of service and extension to 60 years of age is cloaked in language that disguises the real truth of the offer. Pilots will be required to give up their 1st class travel and extension is at the whim and fancy of da toad himself. Of course the fact that he himself is approaching 55 years of age is never brought up.
Over and above this he wants to ram the scheme through by hoodwinking all of us. A cut-off date of one week from the date of offer will mean that the pilots do not have time to go through all the ramifications that acceptance will cause.

When da toad rants and raves about "traitors" and comes up with such an offer one can only conclude that treachery emanates from the powers that be at flight ops dept.

This one just came in:

Someone suggested that the management has no interest at all to retain the pilots becvause they have a "special plan".

The plan is to really create the shortage and then squeeze the company to hire the pilots from some interested parties in the top management. Of course nobody can prove anything because they cover their tracks carefully.

Look at what happened in the engineering department. The company had to hire expats because of the shortage. Suddenly there are some 40 'expats' around looking for a job in Malaysia. These b_____ds are doing this again, this time to the pilots. Who in the end, are the losers? It would seem the loyalists are the losers.

This time, when the time comes up to decide this 'retention plan', throw it back to the originator. Don't even give any reason, just VOTE WITH YOUR FEET.

Its pure foolishness to believe the upper management are kind hearted.

Here are the MBA's holder way of thinking. MAS employ expat for "short term basis", maybe for 5 years. It's okay to pay 30k-40k extra for a bunch of 5-10 expats. But if MAS decide to increase salary for their own pilot, MAS has to come up with much more than that. Let's say 5k extra; times 1500 pilots, that will cost much more on lomg term...

Heard SAS crews were offered for 8000 Euro to fly our buses... Any body can say anything...

That is totally disgusting. It gives a new light to the old Malay saying "Kera di hutan disusukan; Anak di rumah mati kelaparan". I am sure this will be protested with the most severe of language and will be brought to the attention of the political masters because the press will love to write about this kind of scandal. This kind of news sells newspapers in Malaysia.

Looks like the higher ups are going to hire expatriates after all. These guys simply don't get it. They are saying some expats are even paid less than locals. Surprise, Datuk Munir, the Iraqis are no longer sanctioned. Now, which foreigner will take lower pay than us?

Latest, the company counteroffer is 20% increase across the board plus 50% increase in productivity allowance. That is another slap to the face of us,loyalists. Now, don't we look stupid!

This is how those b_____ds reward those who are loyal. The traitors are laughing, not crying...

Which brings me to my earlier post; Somebody is purposely doing this to ensure his/their bank account grows fatter. AT OUR EXPENSE!
