Eh?

AAC= 220
RN = 95
RAF = 55

RAF, 55 aircraft? It has more Hawks than that, never mind adding the F3/ GR4/ GR7/ Jag/ VC10/Tri*, etc.

Unless you're referring to a certain type of airframe, then there can't be any more discussion, since the figures are so wrong and there's no basis for debate...

Or have you had sight of Buff's latest clever plan for the armed forces? :confused:

Or does this relate to your other thread?

He does say any more discussions???? Well if statistics are being used, why not:

Troop Carrying Capability? Aircraft Range? (ok, not counting Puma), Lift Capability for USL? Handsomeness of pilots?

It's not how many you have got, its how big and skilled they are!!!

RAF Lossiemouth = 55

Sorry about the vauge post....

Was last night after far too many beers!

I was having a conversation with a light blue freind reference the numbers of a/c operated by each of the services.

At the last count the AAC was just over the 220 mark, but with apache that is all going to change.

Maybe Mr Ralph's post referred to what we might have by 2008 if the govt gets its way;)

Gainesy,

No one has bothered to answer your question about horses. My guess is that the answer could be embarrasing. Its a line I use often in presentations that 'The Army has more horses than helicopters'. Bit of a headline grabber and I'm not a journo.

I believe it is a fact and just highlights the priorities set by our generalships. And if the responce is that its good for all those tourists to watch in London then let the Min for Tourism contribute or Auntie Betty since they are her Foot and Life Guards and her father's Troop of RHA.

Look what happened when similar comments were made about the Royal Yacht - Wait Out!!
