Hi all - i'd like to backup my email, but I'm not sure where Windows keeps the data. Anybody have some instructions?

System is Windows XP home, Outlook Express 6, all live-updated.

Thanks, Will.

Hi Will,

Click on "view" and then click on "Go to folder". It should give you a list of the folders under Outlook Express. Click on Local Folders and then ok and it should bring up a list of your folders (inbox, outbox, filed mail etc). Right clicking on any of these folders will give you the location and file extension.

Hope this helps,

F - Wyg

There has been quite a lot on this forum about OE backing up etc. Have a 'search'. There are some good links in there too.

122.45,

You can also use the Export Program in OLE to back up your data.

If you want a third party program:

Eazy Backup (http://www.ajsystems.com/ezb.html)

Is a great little program. ;)

Take Care,

Richard

I have been using Express Assist for many years now and I love it. It backs up your emails, favorites, adressbook, signatures, mail rules, etc, etc, etc.....

Formatted my drives many times, never lost one single file, favorite.........

Nudlaug,

All the utilities offered by AJ Systems (http://ajsystems.com/index.html) are great programs and something MS should have offered in their OS to begin with. :ok:
