I have a game Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic and it will not run because it says I do not have OpenGL drivers 1.4.0.
The card is a ATI FireGL8800 and the drivers that came with it are loaded OK, running on a P4 WXP system. Is there a way to get that driver or otherwise make the game run?

Take a look at the System requirements for the card and make sure that yours is fully compliant. Make sure you are using the latest drivers for the card.

How old is the game? Have you tried compatibility wizard (making the computer pretend it is something different). I doubt it will work in this case.

There is a thread on the game forum on exactly this problem. Seems like ATI Cards are not renowned for their brilliance at OpenGL.

boofhead,

As DeepC said, you want the latest:

ATI Catalyst Drivers for Windows XP (http://www.ati.com/support/driver.html)

Take Care,

Richard

You should also note that the FireGL cards are designed for workstation applications, not games. The main difference is in support and the drivers as games require speed, while most workstation apps require accuracy and 24 hour support.

ATI is definitely not known for OpenGL support in their consumer level cards, but I don't know about their workstation ones.
